California

California knows how to Party! Anchored by two of the world's great Cities - San Francisco to the north and Los Angeles to the south -  there isn't another state filled with as much culture, attractions, sports & national parks.  Surf in the morning, ski in the afternoon, and spend the evening wine tasting. Whether you focus on one region or road trip down famous Highway 1, the Golden State will deliver year-round.

Northern California

A trip to San Francisco means sourdough, chocolate and seafood! It also means famously crooked streets, Queen Anne mansions and iconic bridges. Just across the bay, Oakland is a center for Maritime History and kischy tiki and sailor bars plus an emerging hipster scene. Either side of the bay will give you a sunset you'll never forget.  Then take a day trip to Napa Valley to taste award winning wines. Just a quick drive south, Monterey hosts the worlds premiere golf courses and a bay where you can swim with the locals - who are otters!  The north also plays host to the State Capitol, the site of the famous California Gold Rush and for nature enthusiasts Lake Tahoe with its summer boating and winter skiing.

Southern California

Southern California's sprawling metroplex Los Angeles is home to famous beaches like Venice and Redondo, Championship sports teams and elite shopping on Rodeo Drive. As home to Hollywood, film and television fans will be wowed at the studio tours, famous performing arts venues, and opportunity to see a television taping.  Just down the freeway is glamorous Orange County - home to Surf City USA and Disneyland. Keep heading South to San Diego where the Zoo and Safari Park are great fun for the family or animal lover, while the rest of Balboa Park's museums honor California history. An annual jazz festival, naval tradition ,and walking bridge into Mexico make it a one- of- a- kind destination.

National Parks, Beaches and More

Everyone knows California for its famous beaches like Malibu, Santa Monica and Newport.  But Cali is also home to 9 National Parks - more than any other state. And they're no slouchy National Parks, we're talking parks like Yosemite and Joshua Tree! There is even a National Park island chain. And speaking of islands, Catalina makes a unique day trip from Long Beach, with wild Bison and Jeep excursions. For the history buffs a trip through Gold Country is like a trip back in time complete with ghost towns, or follow the Mission trail to see all 21 of the preserved sites - a legacy to the Spanish frontier.
